Will we actually get to play this summer?
We’re optimistic that at some point this summer we can safely get back to playing softball. Timing will depend on the government lifting stay-at-home orders and our governing bodies (USA Softball and USSSA) providing safety guidelines. Based on current information, we could get back on the field sometime in June. However, the situation remains fluid.
How much will it cost to play?
10U: $450
12U: $750
14U: $400
16U: $600
Team fee includes two jerseys, two game pants, helmet, bat bag, two pairs of socks, game belt, tournament and/or league fees. Player is responsible for glove, bat and cleats.
When is payment due and will I get a refund if we don’t play?
First, registering to play in our organization costs you nothing. We use this information to determine the schedule and team fee.
If you are offered a roster position on a team, you will be required to pay a $250 deposit within 7 days to secure your spot.
If the summer season is canceled, you will receive a full refund. However, if the summer season is canceled after we order uniforms, the deposit will not be refunded and you will receive the uniform for future play.
Where will we play?
We are a club travel team who mainly play in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
If I register, does this commit me to play?
No. Registration does not commit you to play in our organization or guarantee a roster spot.
If you are offered a roster spot, your payment of the $250 deposit indicates your commitment. No fees paid to the team are refundable unless the season is canceled. In the event the summer season is canceled, we will issue a full refund (except the cost of the uniform if a uniform is ordered prior to cancellation).
How is age determined?
Age is determined by birth year only.
10U - 2009 & 2010
12U - 2007 & 2008
14U - 2005 & 2006
16U - 2003 & 2004
18U - 2001 & 2002
* In a limited number of situations, we may request a player to play up from their age group.
Will I play on a new team or existing team?
Our goal is to make sure all our players have an enjoyable experience playing competitive fastpitch softball. In limited situations there may be an opportunity to fill an opening on an existing team. Other situations will offer new players an opportunity to play with girls new to the Heat organization.
The coach staff will determine the appropriate team based on a number of factors including roster openings, position available and experience level.
